The new iPhone 4S from Apple has quickly established itself as one of the leading smartphones available thanks to some superb specification together with a slender and attractive design. In the power department it looks as though the Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to become the most powerful smartphone available thanks to a dual core 1.8 Ghz processor. This is no great surprise as Samsung always tend to lead the way when it comes to specification in this department. It is also rumored that a massive 2GB of RAM memory will accompany this processor which should ensure the model performs at speeds more similar to a laptop than a mobile phone. The iPhone 4S is the first mobile phone from Apple to sport dual core technology and the phone certainly does perform at a very fast speed. The ARM Cortex A9 processor is clocked at 1.2Ghz and is joined by 512MB of RAM. The developers at Apple are renowned for optimizing their iOS5 operating system to give you the best power management and performance possible. Thanks to this the device actually feels much faster than it should be and it is hard to see exactly how a powerful chip such as the one set to be fitted in the S3 can make a massive improvement to operation speed. In terms of storage capacity both handsets boast 16GB and 32GB versions but the 4S takes things a stage further by also offering a premium 64GB model.

One area where the iPhone and the Galaxy range of models have always excelled is with there screen technology and it looks as though things will be very evenly matched between these two new models. The iPhone 4Suses the same Retina display as was fitted in its predecessor and there is little doubt that this is the highest quality display available on any mobile phone. The 3.5 inch screen is slightly smaller than many rival models but this enables Apple to offer the best pixel density around at a staggering 326 per inch. This is where the name of the display is derived from as it is beyond what the human eye can actually detect. The Galaxy S3 looks set to feature a large 4.6 inch screen that uses the latest Super AMOLED Plus HD screen technology. This type of display is renowned for producing vivid images a great colour depth. With such a large screen it will always be a struggle for the Samsung to match the pixel density that is offered on the Apple and at 319 pixels per inch it looks as though the model will come close to Apple but not actually eclipse them in this area.

Whenever the Samsung Galaxy S3 is released it will undoubtedly become a great success thanks to its high specification and the excellent reputation that the Galaxy range has developed. It is hard to see how it can outshine a phone as good as the iPhone 4S however. In the screen department Apple still lead the way and the excellent chip set used means that the phone offers performance speeds that will be very hard to improve upon.

An allegedly 21-foot-long (6.4-meter-long) saltwater crocodile Caught alive after a three-week hunt is the biggest crocodile ever caught in the Philippines was restrained on September 4, according to the Associated Press.
The 2,369-pound (1,075-kilogram) crocodile is suspected of attacking several people and killing two. The animal, named Lolong, survived capture and is being held in a temporary enclosure in the village of Consuelo, near Bunawan township (map).
Federal wildlife officials are trying to confirm whether the reptile is the largest crocodile ever captured. There is a Mundita Lim, of the Philippines’ Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau, told the AP.
The Guinness Book of World Records lists a 17.97-foot-long (5.48-meter-long), Australian-caught saltwater crocodile as the largest in captivity.
Yet herpetologist Brady Barr, host of the National Geographic Channel show Dangerous Encounters, said such claims rarely check out. The National Geographic Society part-owns the Channel and wholly owns National Geographic News.

“I’d be surprised if it was truly six meters,” Barr told National Geographic News, adding that a scientist would need to verify the claim.
Alligator biologist Allan Woodward agreed. “There’s never been a crocodile longer than approximately 18 feet [5.5 meters],” said Woodward, of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. “That would be an exceptional jump.”
As for whether the crocodile is the perpetrator of the attacks, it’s impossible to know unless the animal is killed and cut open, Barr said. Officials did induce the animal to vomit, which produced no human remains.
“It is great they didn’t kill it,” Barr said. “That’s commendable and very rare.”

The Run command on Microsoft Windows operating system allows you to directly open an application or document with just a single command instead of navigating to it’s location and double-clicking the executable icon. However, it only works for some of the inbuilt Windows programs such as Command prompt (cmd), Calculator (calc) etc. So, have you ever wondered how to create your own customized Run commands for accessing your favorite programs, files and folders? Well, read on to find out the answer.

Creating the Customized Run Command

Let me take up an example of how to create a customized run command for opening the Internet explorer. Once you create this command, you should be able to open the Internet explorer just by typing “ie” (without quotes) in the Run dialog box. Here is how you can do that.

1. Right click on your Desktop and select New -> Shortcut.

2. You will see a “Create Shortcut” Dialog box

3. Click on “Browse”, navigate to: Program Files -> Internet Explorer from your Root drive (usually C:\) and select “iexplore” as shown in the above figure and click on “OK”.

4. Now click on “Next” and type any name for your shortcut. You can choose any name as per your choice; this will be your customized “Run command”. In this case I name my shortcut as “ie”. Click on “Finish”.

5. You will see a shortcut named “ie” on your desktop. All you need to do is just copy this shortcut and paste it in your Windows folder (usually “C:/Windows”). Once you have copied the shortcut onto your Windows folder, you can delete the one on your Desktop.

6. That’s it! From now on, just open the Run dialog box, type ie and hit Enter to open the Internet Explorer.

In this way you can create customized Run commands for any program of your choice. Say “ff” for Firefox, “ym” for Yahoo messenger, “wmp” for Windows media player and so on.

To do this, when you click on “Browse” in the Step-3, just select the target program’s main executable (.exe) file which will usually be located in the C:\Program Files folder. Give a simple and short name for this shortcut as per your choice and copy the shortcut file onto the Windows folder as usual. Now just type this short name in the Run dialog box to open the program.
