Procrastination

Are you feeling a dearth of time? Does your assignment fail to be submitted on time? Does your teacher always complain about your hassled handwriting or half-finished homework? If YES, then you are a victim; a victim of a severe illness called PROCRASTINATION!!

Procrastination means to put off a work for another time (for no apparent reason) even when it can be done immediately. When you procrastinate, you don’t learn how to discipline yourself, the quality of work suffers, and you get tensed. Procrastination, it is said, is the thief of time.

Procrastination is an evil. The reasons are:

  • The quality of work suffers.
  • You learn to cheat: When an assignment is left to the last minute, you worry more and cheating and taking shortcuts happen a lot more.
  • Stress increases when you procrastinate because you start to doubt yourself: When you make up your mind that you won’t leave the next assignment until the last minute and you end of doing so, you get frustrated and upset yourself.
  • You begin to cheat yourself: When you learn to make excuses to put off assignments, you learn to make excuses for other thing as well.
  • Self-confidence drops and then all kinds of problems start to happen.

Procrastination is a way of fooling yourself by thinking up reasons to wait for one more day or one more week or even one more month. But the good news is: Procrastination is too easy to stop. You just have to STOP BEING LAZY, MAKE UP YOUR MIND to get it done and just DO IT..!! Just follow the Hindi slogan: “Kaal kare so aaj kare, aaj kare so aab”.
